Kathryn K. McClure has honed her skills at the best law firms in New Jersey, and brings to Deutsch Atkins a solid employment law background that helps her spot good cases, identify with clients and makes her solidly committed to representing employees and vindicating their rights. She sees employment law “as an opportunity to try to make things right for employees.”

The New Jersey Law Against Discrimination seeks to “eradicate the cancer of discrimination” in the state, and that’s what Ms. McClure feels her purpose as a lawyer is. She has represented employees in state and federal court in negotiation, mediation and litigation of claims including sexual harassment, sex, age, race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, martial status, disability and pregnancy discrimination. She has similarly represented employees in claims involving whistle blowing under the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act, discrimination and retaliation under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, claims under the Family Medical Leave Act and New Jersey Family Leave Act, breach of contract and fraud.

Ms. McClure is admitted to practice in the state courts of New Jersey as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is a member of the Labor and Employment Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association, and the New Jersey Association for Justice. She is also an Associate member of the Sidney Reitman Employment Law Inn of Court.

Prior to joining Deutsch Atkins, P.C., in September 2008, Ms. McClure was Of Counsel to Smith Mullin, P.C. from April 2005 until August 2008 and an associate with Lowenstein Sandler PC from August 2004 until April 2005. For a decade prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. McClure was a paralegal with Smith Mullin, P.C. during which time she actively participated in pre-trial litigation and trial support of numerous employment matters that resulted in successful jury verdicts for the plaintiff.

Ms. McClure graduated from Montclair State College  with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and journalism in May 1993. She began practicing law in 2004 upon her graduation from Rutgers, the State University School of Law, Newark. At graduation, Ms. McClure was awarded the Myron Harkavy Award for greatest promise as a trial lawyer.
